Some Gave All

Lest we forget the sacrifices of our Founding Fathers

Happy Independence Day!!!

Part 1

Part 2

For those who don't believe this nation was born out of Judeo-Christian values, watch these videos.

This nation began as a Christian nation and it continues to be a Christian nation. We do, however, show tolerance toward other's beliefs. This is how the founding fathers wanted it and this is what exist in America today.

We do not persecute others for their religious beliefs that differ from ours, but we should also acknowledge and embrace our origins as a Christian nation. Without God and the Godly-minded men who risked all to declare our independence and sovereignty, we would not exist. So, let's not turn our backs on those values we were born out of.

Happy Independence Day!!!

Happy Birthday America!!!

I love fireworks as much as the next person, and I hope you enjoy the ones above. However, let's not forget what this holiday is all about. Our forefathers put life and limb at risk to sign their names to the Declaration of Independence. Let's never forget their sacrifices.

Below is an awesome reading of the Declaration of Independence by some great actors. I'm not very fond of most of Hollywood's political leanings, but you got to give them one thing. They sure know how to put together a video. Enjoy!!!

P.S. - Listen to every word. The Declaration is a masterpiece. Thanks Thomas Jefferson!

Obama Calls Honduran President's Removal "Not Legal"

You know what? I'm not going to mince words. Obama is scaring the bejesus out of me. Seriously.

Aren't we supposed to be the bastion of democracy in the world? Are we not, still, Ronald Reagan's "shining city upon a hill"? Well, apparently, if Obama has anything to say about it, NO!

U.S. President Barack Obama

Let me recap, for you, what our President has called "not legal" in Honduras.

The President of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, recently tried to put an unconstitutional referendum on the ballot, which was an attempt at remaining in power past his democratically elected term. Honduras' constitution clearly states a one term limit for their Presidents. The reason this limit is in place is to try and keep the possibilities of a dictator taking control of the country.

Honduran President Manuel Zelaya

You have to remember, this is a country that has had problems with dictators in the past. So, to have this guy making a move towards trying to stay in power past his duly appointed term, raised red flags with their Supreme Court and other branches of the government.

The last straw was when he approached Romeo Vasquez Valasquez, the head of the Honduran military, with a request to back him up. When Valasquez refused to go against the constitution, Zelaya ousted him. It doesn't take much of a leap of common sense to assume Zelaya had plans on replacing him with a yes man. The Honduran Supreme Court, later the same day, re-installed Valasquez to his position.

Zelaya paid no mind to the Supreme Court and tried to go on with his plans for the referendum, which by now was deemed illegal by the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the Congress and the country's top electoral body.

On June 27th, protesters began to march on the capital city in opposition to Zelaya. The Supreme Court, military and other governing bodies called for a cessation of the protests, amid fears of all out riots and fighting.

On June 28th, Zelaya was detained on orders of the Supreme Court and flown to Costa Rica in exile.

So, this is a basic recap of the situation in Honduras, as it stands. For a little more background on Zelaya, it must be noted, this is a man that has allied himself with Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez. He also has made disparaging comments about the United States on several occasions. By his actions, statements and the company he keeps, Zelaya has shown which side of democracy he falls on.

The question is, what side of democracy does Obama fall on? Before you go thinking that is an outrageous question, I would beg you to judge a tree by it's fruit.

First, let's take Obama's own words into account. He stated that his mother was "the dominant figure in my formative years... The values she taught me continue to be my touchstone when it comes to how I go about the world of politics."

That statement begs the question of what his mother's politics were all about. A look back into her life clearly shows statements, associations and leanings toward communism, socialism and Marxism. She never tried to hide her political beliefs which were extreme leftist.

So, if what she taught him continues to be his touchstone when it comes to politics, as he stated, that really explains everything he has done, thus far, while in office.

Next let's take a look at the people Obama associated himself with in Chicago. The biggest majority of them were openly anti-American socialists. Such "upstanding patriots" as William Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Saul Mendelson, Louis Farrakhan, Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) among others in and out of Chicago.

Obama's buddy William Ayers now (left) and then (right)

Marxist revolutionary Che Guevera displayed proudly at an Obama campaign headquarters.

We could go through them one at a time, but for time's sake let's just say they are a group including a domestic terrorist, anti-Americans, leftists and a group aimed at turning us into a socialist or communist nation. And these were Obama's closest associates in Chicago.

You may say who he associated himself with means absolutely nothing. You may say it doesn't necessarily mean he holds the same beliefs. You may even say his statement about his Marxist mother being his touchstone and his most dominant influence, doesn't convince you. Ok, let's say all of that overwhelming evidence didn't exist. Let's say all we had to go on was what he has done since he's been in office. What then?

Well, we've already pointed out his latest damning statement about the Honduran government and military's removal of their, Hugo Chavez loving, President Zelaya being "not legal". Yeah, ok, how dare a people rise up against a wanna be dictator and remove him from office. We Americans wouldn't know anything about rebelling against a ruler who was trying to oppress us, would we?

In the Gettysburg Address, President Abraham Lincoln said we should all, as Americans, dedicate ourselves so that a government "of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from the earth."

Wake up America!!! Our nation was formed in such ways. Democracy should always be a government of the people, by the people and for the people. When you call a rebellion by the people against a ruler who was trying to change a country's constitution, "not legal", I and every other freedom loving human on the planet should sit up and take notice.

This is the same President who just recently would not give a word of support to protesters in Iran who are starved for a change in their oppressive government. He stepped it up a notch against Honduran protesters and called their actions "not legal".

Now let's move on to his plans of socializing our health care, government take overs of banks, auto manufacturers and any other private business it deems necessary for "the good of the people".

These are all things he has either already done, in his short time in office, or is trying to get done. This is a man who was reared on leftist thinking and is steeped in socialistic ideals.

I'm scared, and that's no joke. I'm terrified at what else he may be allowed to do with no check or balance in Congress to stop him from his socialist agenda.

I was not born into a socialist society and I do not want to live in a socialist society. I was born a free United States citizen and I would like it to stay that way.

Does it ever make you wonder why the left is so dead set against law abiding United States citizens owning guns? Do they worry that one day, when they flip the switch completely over to communism, the population will smell the socialist stinking coffee and rise up, as they have in Iran and Honduras, but with the weapons and ammunition to make a dent?

Just remember, our country was born out of armed citizen's rebelling against a government they felt was oppressive and did not agree with. So, when our president makes a public statement, such as he did by calling the ouster of an out of control leader, "not legal", that is a slap in the face to our ancestors who basically done the same exact thing.

Waxman-Markey Global Warming Bill

Well, they snuck it in while we wasn't looking. While the country was busy following the tragic news coming out of L.A. yesterday, the House of Representatives was busy passing the Global Warming Bill by 7 votes.

All we can hope for now is the Senate ripping this, wolf in sheep's clothing, bill to shreds. We all better keep our fingers crossed. Let's hope the Senate takes a bit more time to read the approx. 1,400 page bill. The House freely admitted, no one had read the bill completely. Kinda makes you wonder what kind of earmarks were snuck into the bill.

So, if passed by both the House and the Senate and signed into law by the President, what does it mean to you and I? Well, first thing it will do is pretty much force the coal industry out of business. That means all those coal miners and their families will be searching for new employment. I wonder what kind of rise in unemployment this will cause? I wonder how much more of a burden on the welfare system this will cause?

Next will be the rise in our utilities. Yes, there will be an increase in your utilities, so get ready for it. Electricity, water and natural gas prices are going to rise. This isn't a theory, it is a fact. Even the politicians supporting the bill freely admit to this. But, how much? Well, according to most estimates you should be looking at an approximate $1,200 - $1,400 increase per year.

heritage-cap-and-trade-costs by you.

Next is fuel prices. I have seen varying estimations on the rise it will cause in fuel prices. These estimates have ranged from a $1.50 - $5.00 per gallon increase. So, more or less, we could expect to see what happened last year to happen again, except this time to stay.

Starting in 2012 and going through 2035, our gross domestic product losses caused by this bill will average $491 billion per year. By 2035 the total GDP loss is expected to be $9.4 trillion. There's that T word again. Must be Obama's favorite letter or something.

These numbers do not even take into account what it will do to the rest of the economy as a whole. Remember, our economy is very much linked together. When one facet is affected by rising costs it will assuredly affect another.

So you can best bet when fuel and utilities go up, it will cause pretty much everything else to go up. Expect to be paying higher prices at the grocery stores, department stores, clothing stores, hardware stores, hair dressers, nail salons, athletic gyms, doctor's office, dentist office, convenient stores, your plumber, your roofer, your lawn guy, etc...etc...

Basically, everything will be going up if this bill, now passed by the House of Representatives yesterday, somehow passes through the Senate, as is, also.

Haven't we let Obama spend enough? I've never seen such backward thinking in Washington in all my years. Isn't it basic economics to know if you are in debt you have to conserve. Instead, Washington has decided to try and spend their way out of debt. That DOES NOT and CAN NOT work.

Being in debt is very much akin to being in slavery. I'm starting to get an eerie feeling that may be the whole point. Look what it has done to the Auto industry. They now are, basically, servants to the government. The government now has complete control over them. They are the governments slaves.

The states that have taken the government's stimulus money will be facing the same fate. Thank God, with all my state's (Louisiana) faults withstanding, we haven't accepted the stimulus. We have Bobby Jindal to thank for that.

My whole point to the slavery comment, though, is to ask a simple question. Just where are we getting all this money and who are we (United States) indebted to. Well, our biggest lenders have been China ($740 billion) and Japan ($635 billion).

Japan is an ally that would probably have patience with us. Do you think China would give us the same consideration? I have my doubts. So, what happens if they call in the debt? Well the quick simple answer is they can't. They are invested in treasury bills that do not all mature simultaneously.

That being said, they still have a vested interest in the way we handle our finances. If we are foolish with the way we spend and it drives our dollar down, then it also drives their investment down. How do you think they feel about that? I'm sure they're not happy with us right now. Matter of fact, they have said they are concerned and who can blame them. I'm concerned, too.

So, if they can't call in the debt we don't have anything to worry about with them, right? Well, no not exactly. If you don't think the U.S. foreign creditors hold sway over us, just think about your own situation. Does your creditors hold sway over you? Well of course they do. If they didn't you wouldn't get up and go to work every morning.

Essentially, we are slaves to our creditors. That statement goes for individuals as well as entire countries.

Anyhow, I got way off on a whole separate subject there. Well, not really, because it's all intertwined. This Global Warming bill just puts us further in debt and if we add up what Obama has already spent it's mind boggling. We're talking TRILLIONS people, not billions.

Ok, I'm stepping down off my soap box now. But, if you are as concerned as I am, call your Senator, write them or email them. Just make sure they know you're not happy with all this spending and you want it all stopped. And that includes this Global Warming Bill.

Now Performing At Your Local House Of Representatives...

As mortified and embarrassed as I am that this happened in my state's House of Representatives, I had to post this to show the complete lack of sense some of these politicians have.

Who in the hell would have ever approved this performance in a setting that is supposed to be dealing with serious issues of the state? Somebody needs to be fired. Pronto!!!

I was going to post the lyrics on here, but after giving them a once over, I've decided I don't want them on my blog. That's hilarious. I don't want them on my lowly blog, but my state wants them in our House of Representatives. How embarrassing.

I'm gonna start telling everybody I'm from my birth state (Illinois) if this kinda crap keeps up. Oh wait...Illinois produced Blago and Obama......Damn!!! I wonder if Alaska minds if I apply for honorary citizenship???

Here's the lyrics if you prefer to read them. But, be warned, they are fairly graphic.
